Job summary

City of New Braunfels is seeking a dedicated professional to administer acquisition, management, and disposition of City real property for construction, operation, and maintenance of city projects.

The role supports the Purchasing Manager, overseeing negotiations, title work, appraisals, and property records, with emphasis on compliance, coordination with legal teams, and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in real estate studies, business law, business or public administration, and four (4) years administrative experience in real estate, real property management, or a directly related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Licensed as Real Estate Agent or Broker is preferred.
• Knowledge of city operations, real estate purchasing, management and disposition; familiarity with related laws and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Obtains real property for City projects, including evaluating acquisition methods and estimating costs.
• Evaluates property interests and prepares conveyance documents; coordinates with the City Attorney on eminent domain issues.
• Negotiates acquisitions or dispositions of City real estate rights; reviews title, appraisals, and surveys.
• Develops and maintains policies for real estate acquisition, disposal, and records management.
• Serves as advisor to City staff on real estate issues; coordinates with project managers, appraisers, attorneys, title companies and others.
• Prepares and maintains letters, contracts, appraisals, reports, and meeting materials; maintains property inventory.
• Ensures compliance with laws, policies, and regulations; conducts reviews of appraisal reports, contracts, maps and plans.
• Attends public hearings and meetings; performs other duties as assigned.
