Job summary

OCTA College Intern – CAMM program in Santa Ana, CA invites enrolled students to gain hands-on experience supporting public-sector procurement and contract administration.

You will assist with solicitations, vendor research, records management, and documentation while working under supervision. The paid, year-round program offers mentorship, skill development, and exposure to transportation project delivery; 20 hours/week, $20–$23/hour, 1,000-hour limit, benefits not included.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as a full-time college student (Freshman to Senior) at an accredited college/university.
• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field with GPA 2.5+.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support CAMM staff with procurement and contract administration activities for capital projects, maintenance operations, and other agency needs.
• Assist with competitive solicitations and small-dollar procurements, including gathering information and preparing documentation.
• Conduct vendor and contractor research, reference checks, and responsibility reviews.
• Assist with preparation, assembly, processing, and maintenance of solicitation and contract documents.
• Support contract administration activities, including validating submittals and maintaining contract files.
• Draft memoranda, letters, correspondence, and other business documentation.
• Assist with public records requests, document research, filing, records retention, and archive/purge activities.
• Update databases, systems, and SharePoint records, including insurance certificates and notices.
• Compile and organize procurement, vendor, contract, and project information for reporting.
