Job summary

Starbucks is seeking a Manager, Public Policy to monitor legislative and regulatory developments, coordinate research, and translate policy activity into clear updates for internal teams.

You will work with government affairs partners and cross-functional colleagues to shape policy positions, draft briefing documents, and mobilize external support for Starbucks priorities. This role emphasizes ethics, compliance, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in government affairs, public policy, or related roles.
• Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, timelines, trackers, and updates.
• Strong writing and editing skills with policy materials and briefings.
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes and monitoring policy developments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting partners and operations.
• Conduct policy research and translate findings into practical insights and recommendations.
• Maintain relationships with trade associations, coalitions, and external partners.
• Draft advocacy materials: briefing documents, memos, talking points, and updates.
• Partner with business teams to align policy positions and messaging.
• Support advocacy activity in line with lobbying, ethics, disclosure, and compliance requirements.
