Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Government & Policy Affairs Director to lead its PAC and public policy efforts from Washington DC (preferred) or Newport Beach, CA. This role manages political contributions, marketing and advocacy programs, and engages with lawmakers and associations to shape policy in retirement security and financial services.

The Director will ensure compliance with FEC rules, grow the PAC, support senior leadership, and travel ~15% to key offices while educating stakeholders on

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
• Experience managing a PAC for a large company or trade association with compliance, fundraising, events and communications.
• Strong writing, public speaking, and communications skills.
• Strong marketing, event planning and membership development skills.
• Growth mindset with ability to solve problems in support of goals.
• Strategic mindset and project management to drive plans to completion.
• Strong teamwork, relationship and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Grow PAC membership and contributions, support an engaged PAC community and develop contribution strategies.
• Manage state political contribution strategy and compliance in key states.
• Ensure compliance with campaign contribution laws and regulations.
• Be conversant with FEC regulations and PAC reporting requirements.
• Maintain strong compliance procedures for reporting and disclosure.
• Report to the PAC Board and senior leadership with data-driven analysis.
• Serve as corporate secretary for the PAC Board, preparing materials and financial reports.
• Travel to Newport Beach, Omaha, and Charlotte offices (~15%).
• Represent the company before lawmakers, regulators and trade associations.
• Educate public officials on public policy affecting Pacific Life.
