Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Government & Policy Affairs Director to lead the PAC and advocacy programs in Washington DC (preferred) or Newport Beach, CA. You will manage contributions, compliance, events, and communications while shaping public policy across tax, retirement security, and financial services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
• Experience managing a PAC for a large company or trade association.
• Strong writing, public speaking, and communications skills.
• Growth mindset and problem solving in pursuit of broader goals.
• Strategic mindset with ability to develop and execute plans.
• Ability to work with teams and coalitions.

Responsibilities

• Grow PAC membership and contributions, develop strategies for federal campaigns and state strategies.
• Ensure compliance with campaign contribution laws and reporting requirements.
• Report to PAC Board and senior leadership with data-driven analyses and financial reports.
• Travel to Newport Beach, Omaha, and Charlotte offices ≈15%.
