Cloudflare is offering a U.S. Public Policy and AI Innovation Intern position for Fall 2026 in Washington, DC. This on-site internship supports federal, state, and local policy efforts while building internal AI-driven tooling to enhance policy work.

The role blends policy analysis with hands-on AI tooling and collaboration across Legal, Trust & Safety, and Public Sector teams. You will gain firsthand exposure to regulatory processes, contribute to policy advocacy, and help shape AI-enabled

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a focus on technology, engineering, public policy, law, or a related field.
In-Office: Availability for a full-time 12-week internship, working from the Washington, D.C. office 3–5 days a week in fall (Sept–Dec).
Strong demonstrated interest in Internet and technology policy, cybersecurity, privacy, and AI issues.
Experience building and deploying AI tools using modern developer workflows, including AI-augmented coding or natural language programming.

Responsibilities

Policy Operations and Advocacy: Maintain policy knowledge bases, monitor legislation, and draft talking points and materials for external events.
AI Innovation and Tooling: Design AI-driven prototypes and refine prompts to streamline policy workflows.
Collaborate with Legal, Trust & Safety, Public Sector Sales, and other teams on regulatory inquiries and high-stakes policy issues.
