Job summary

Kids for the Future in Marathon, FL seeks a Municipal Permit Technician to handle front-line counter duties and help process building permits. You will explain city policy, assist with permit files, and perform data entry into the city MIS, while communicating clearly with the public.

Responsibilities

• Performs front-line counter work receiving and processing documents; explains City policy to customers.
• Assists with maintenance of building permit files.
• Data entry into MIS to add/update contractor files and daily inspections results.
• Prepares reports based on research for presentations within deadlines.
• Receives calls and visitors and provides information in a friendly manner.
• Performs short-term projects under close supervision.
• Reviews permits and applications to ensure compliance with city codes.
• Calculates permit fees using the approved fee schedule.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
