Job summary

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission seeks a Public Information Specialist II - Outreach and Education Specialist to lead outreach and education initiatives in Tallahassee. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of professional experience in natural science, environmental education, journalism, or related field (or bachelor's degree substitutes for experience)
• Valid Florida Driver's License with ability to travel and work some evenings and weekends
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom
• Proven experience in public relations, communications, or environmental outreach with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with social media, website management, and content creation for diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Lead public outreach and education initiatives for the Invasive Plant Management Section
• Create educational materials and manage digital content
• Develop multimedia resources and coordinate partnerships to raise awareness
• Work independently in Tallahassee and report to supervisor
• Coordinate with stakeholders to expand outreach across Florida
