The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking an OPS Public Information Specialist II to lead outreach and education initiatives for the Invasive Plant Management Section in Tallahassee. The role emphasizes creative content and partnerships to communicate environmental programs to diverse audiences.

The incumbent will develop materials, manage web content and social media, and coordinate with biologists and partners to ensure timely, accurate messaging across platforms.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and four years of professional experience in natural science, environmental education, recreation, English, creative writing, journalism, or a related field.
• A bachelor’s degree can substitute for four years’ experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to travel and work some evenings/weekends.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Photoshop and Lightroom a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and implementation of public outreach/education initiatives for the IPMS.
• Create and deliver programs, materials, and partnerships to raise public awareness.
• Manage outreach web content, partner social channels, and internal communications.
• Represent the Section at meetings, conferences, and outreach events.
