Cumming Group is seeking a Public Outreach Specialist in Los Angeles, CA. You will support public information and community outreach for LAWA and the LAX modernization program, coordinating communications from planning through construction with a focus on stakeholder engagement.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication, experience in public outreach or PR, and familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CMS tools like Drupal, and email marketing platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related field.
• Prior experience in public outreach, public relations, communications, or community engagement.
• Familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
• Experience with CMS platforms such as Drupal or similar.
• Knowledge of email marketing platforms (Benchmark or similar).
• Knowledge of social media platforms and CMS content management.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide communications and outreach support for the ATMP Roadways projects.
• Track inquiries, respond to comments, and elevate issues as needed.
• Draft notices, updates, and outreach materials for stakeholders.
• Maintain stakeholder databases and distribution lists.
• Prepare presentations, fact sheets, FAQs, and informational content.
• Coordinate public outreach events and community meetings.
• Support website updates and content management tasks.
• Assist with social media content and campaign coordination.
• Coordinate media events and stakeholder briefings.
• Maintain records of outreach activities and communications logs.
