Job summary

Kentucky Educational Television (KET) is hiring a full‑time Information Technology Systems Administrator in Lexington, Kentucky. The role delivers robust IT operations for business and broadcast services, including VM/AD/Windows environments, security, and end‑user support.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years IT experience, familiarity with virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), Linux, and network fundamentals. Travel, weekend/overnight work, and a flexible schedule are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred in IT/CS/Net Admin/Cybersecurity; 1–2 years IT support or admin experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Windows desktop/server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, TCP/IP/DNS/DHCP, Wi‑Fi, switching.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems including infrastructure, hardware, software, virtualization, network equipment, VPN, and video streaming.
• Assist with administration of VMware, Hyper‑V, AD, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, backups, cloud services, Linux, and IP networking.
• Monitor networks/servers/desktops; troubleshoot issues and escalate when needed.
• Help maintain endpoint security, patches, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Broadcast Engineering, Web Development, and Production staff to meet technology needs and improve workflows.
• Maintain records for asset management, deployments, documentation, licensing, IP addressing, SOPs, and IT inventory.
• Provide end‑user support for PC/Mac devices; respond to help desk requests and document resolutions.
