Job summary

Kentucky Educational Television (KET) in Lexington is hiring an Information Technology Systems Administrator to maintain and improve IT operations for business and broadcasting services. You’ll support infrastructure, virtualization, AD, servers, and endpoints, delivering reliable services with a focus on user experience.

The role involves collaboration with Broadcast Engineering, Web Development, and Production teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of IT support, help desk, desktop support, or system administration experience or equivalent.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to help users solve technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems including infrastructure, hardware, software, virtualization, networking, VPN, and video streaming.
• Assist with administration and support of VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Microsoft Server environments, Microsoft 365, backup systems, cloud services, Linux, and IP networking.
• Perform routine monitoring of network, server, and desktop systems; troubleshoot issues and escalate when needed.
• Maintain network and endpoint security measures, including antivirus, patch management, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with Broadcast Engineering, Web Development, and Production staff to support technology needs and workflows.
• Keep asset management, hardware deployments, system documentation, software licensing, IP addressing, and SOPs updated.
• Provide end-user support, deployment, setup, troubleshooting, and training for PC and Mac devices; document issues and resolutions.
