Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Public Library is seeking a Communication Coordinator to lead a four-person communications team across twenty locations, including three new sites in development, and to oversee public relations, marketing, advertising, internal communications and media buying for branding and program promotion.

The role requires strategic planning, staff development, and acting as the Library's Public Information Officer, coordinating with City communications units to support library

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or a closely related field
• Two (2) years of administrative management or supervisory responsibility
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver's license

Responsibilities

• Developing comprehensive communications plans aligned with business operations and department strategic plan while managing the plan through execution
• Overseeing team development and day-to-day operations of the communications unit
• Serving as an advisor to library administration and leadership teams
• Serve as the Public Information Officer for the Library department within the City of Fort Worth, coordinating with City communications units
• Coordinate interdepartmental City communication projects and serve as liaison as needed to elected officials

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration or a related field
