Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Public Library is seeking a Communications Coordinator to lead a four-person team responsible for public relations, marketing, advertising, internal communications, and media buying across the library system.

You will develop comprehensive communications plans aligned with library operations and serve as an advisor to library leadership, coordinating with City communications to promote branding and more than 10,000 programs annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or a closely related field
• Two (2) years of administrative management or supervisory responsibility
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver's license

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive communications plans aligned with business operations and department strategic plan while managing the plan through execution
• Overseeing team development and day-to-day operations of the communications unit
• Serving as an advisor to library administration and leadership teams
• Serve as the Public Information Officer for the Library department within the City of Fort Worth, coordinating with City communications units
• Coordinate interdepartmental City communication projects and serve as liaison as needed to elected officials
