Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Public Library is seeking a Communication Coordinator to lead a four-person communications team across 20 locations, including ongoing marketing, public relations, and media buying to promote over 10,000 annual programs.

Ideal candidates will manage plans from conception to execution, advise library leadership, and coordinate cross-departmental city communications efforts while liaising with elected officials and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or related field.
• Two years of administrative management or supervisory responsibility.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive communications plans aligned with business operations and department strategic plan while managing the plan through execution.
• Overseeing team development and day-to-day operations of the communications unit.
• Serving as an advisor to library administration and leadership teams.
• Serve as the Public Information Officer for the Library department within the City of Fort Worth, coordinating with City communications units.
• Coordinate interdepartmental City communication projects and serve as liaison as needed to elected officials.
