Job summary

Athens-Clarke County Government seeks a Project Manager to oversee multiple public infrastructure and facility projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate with departments, consultants, contractors, and the public to ensure transparent, efficient delivery aligned with community priorities.

Responsibilities include administering design and construction contracts, reviewing schedules and costs, and escalating issues as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or other applied technical disciplines related to the built environment with 5 years of progressive project management experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Applies project standards per Contract, Specifications, and ACCGov standards.
• Manages assigned projects: scope, schedule, resources, risk, budget, and fees.
• Facilitates public engagement and coordinates technical input from stakeholders.
• Documents decisions and escalates issues within delegated authority.
• Learn and adapt to project management and document control tools (e.g., MS Project, Bluebeam).
• Oversee contract administration and cost management activities and ensure compliance with documents and terms.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and provide regular progress reports to leadership.
• Support quality, safety, risk management, and professional practice efforts across projects.
