Job summary

The City of Broken Arrow is seeking a Director of Engineering & Construction to lead the Engineering & Construction Department in applying design, construction, and maintenance of public infrastructure. You will supervise staff, manage projects, review contracts, coordinate with consultants, and present information at public meetings, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal requirements.

A PE license or architect license is preferred; a candidate may obtain certification within one

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or related engineering field.
• PE license in Oklahoma or architecture license required or obtainable within 1 year.
• Knowledge of municipal budgets, contract management, and construction processes.
• Experience managing multiple public works divisions and staff.

Responsibilities

• Implements project management for design and construction of public projects.
• Oversees contract management, bids, and award recommendations.
• Provides technical support and reviews design/construction contracts.
• Coordinates with consultants, engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Attends public meetings and communicates project information to the public.
• Plans and supervises staff and daily activities of Engineering, Stormwater & Construction Divisions.
