Calvert County Government is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the Public Information Program, writing social media content, newsletters, speeches and press materials for multiple county departments.

The role includes monitoring social media trends, preparing materials for release, event photography support, and coordinating with county staff. Telework is allowed part of the week; occasional office attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in communications, public relations or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in public relations, communications, publication design or public affairs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Collects, edits, analyzes, writes and distributes content for county communications.
• Develops content for social media and assists in creating a presence for social media.
• Monitors social media trends and prepares press reports.
• Provides event photography support and edits photographs for county materials.
• Coordinates with county departments and external entities for schedules and information.
