Job summary

City of Tucson's Department of Transportation and Mobility seeks a Public Information Specialist to support outreach, coordinate events, and manage communications with Ward offices and the public. You will create and distribute information on transportation projects, respond to media inquiries, and ensure accessibility and timely updates for stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, with fluency in English and Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience required.
• Equivalency: any combination of related education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Produces and distributes information about transportation initiatives, projects and services.
• Attends design and construction project meetings, gathering information and providing updates to the public about impacts.
• Supports events with sign-in, photography and communications during evenings and weekends.
• Designs outreach materials and coordinates with Ward offices and community groups.
• Coordinates and designs graphic content for social media and video content to promote department initiatives.
