Job summary

The City of Chandler Police Department, Media Relations Unit, is seeking a Civilian Public Information Officer for a full-time exempt role with full benefits. The anticipated work schedule is Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, with after-hours on-call duties on a rotation basis.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in PR/Journalism/Media or related field and/or 3+ years in marketing or communications with emphasis on social media; or an equivalent combination of education and

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, Digital Media or a related field; and/or
• Must possess at least 3-years of experience in marketing or communications with an emphasis on social media; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging social media content including photos, videos and graphics.
• Disseminate information to the public in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the Police Department and City of Chandler.
• Collaborate with leadership to plan and execute projects and content strategy.
• Work nights and weekends on occasion.
