Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) offers a Paid ODOT College Internship - Public Information for the 2027 Winter/Spring Semester. Under the supervision of the Public Information Officer, you will support the monthly and statewide newsletters, draft communications, and assist with press releases to local and state officials and the general public.

Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university in good academic standing and hold a valid driver’s license to operate a state

Qualifications

• Must currently be enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing.
• Must show proof of valid driver's license to operate state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, proofread, generate copies of monthly/statewide newsletters using Word/Excel.
• Assist in gathering information on road closures, detours, and openings; help write and distribute press releases to officials, media, and the public.
• Maintain accurate records, organize materials, and assist in report preparation.
• Serve as a back-up greeter for visitors; answer calls and direct inquiries via telephone or email.
