Job summary

The Town of Collierville is seeking a Public Information Officer to lead strategic communications for the Administration team. You will develop public information, press releases, newsletters, and digital content while coordinating with departments and the Mayor's office.

You will manage the town website, engage with media and community partners, and provide timely responses to inquiries. A bachelor's degree in communications or related field and at least three years in communications are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Administration or a closely related field.
• At least three years of progressively responsible work in communications or related fields.
• Ability to attend meetings outside regular business hours and provide after-hours availability.
• Proficiency with social media applications and a variety of software and graphic design programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic communication initiatives for the Town and community.
• Create and distribute public information, press releases, newsletters, flyers, and digital content.
• Maintain and coordinate the Town's website and cross-department communications.
• Serve as liaison between Mayor, Board, departments, media, and community partners.
