CAMRIS is seeking a Toxicologist to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on applying toxicology principles to assess public health implications of hazardous chemical exposures and to support risk communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in toxicology, environmental health, public health, health sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in public health, health sciences research, and/or program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of toxicology, risk assessment, clinical toxicology, occupational toxicology, and risk communication.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating toxicological and environmental data, including data associated with hazardous waste sites.
  • Ability to assess potential human health impacts and provide technical recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply toxicology and risk assessment to public health implications of chemical exposure.
  • Assess metabolic pathway interactions of metals, solvents, pesticides, and radiation.
  • Support analysis of toxicological data from hazardous waste sites.
  • Evaluate data for QA/QC, completeness, and relevance.
  • Provide recommendations on health consultations for federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Attend technical assistance site visits and public meetings.
