Job summary

CAMRIS is seeking an Epidemiologist to support the CDC in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on public health surveillance, data management, and analytical reporting to inform programs and policy.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in a health-related field or equivalent, proficiency with SAS/R/Python/SQL, and experience with health data standards. This is a forecasted, contract-contingent position based in Atlanta with collaboration across sites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, or Economics; PhD desirable.
• Experience with HL7, OMOP, FHIR standards and data models for public health surveillance.
• Experience evaluating data systems (HealthVerity, Premier, Truveta, IQVIA, PCORNET, MarketScan) for surveillance.
• Expertise with healthcare big data using R, Python, SQL and visualization tools.
• Cloud computing and distributed computing experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide epidemiology expertise for public health programs and projects.
• Maintain joint laboratory-epidemiologic databases and generate monthly surveillance reports.
• Be familiar with study protocols and provide input into developing new ones.
• Analyze study or project implementation and measure the outcomes of projects.
• Perform basic statistical analyses with SAS, SPSS, Epi-Info, or Stata.
• Generate tables and figures summarizing analyses for presentations/publications.
• Design and implement epidemiologic studies including field/site visits and data management.
• Prepare weekly/regular reports and communicate with CDC staff and partners.
