Job description

Collin County is seeking candidates to fill the position of Health Care Analyst - TB. A Health Care Analyst- TB is responsible for, but not limited to, investigations by identifying and evaluating individuals who may have been exposed to TB, collecting blood specimens for testing, and maintaining accurate records of contact investigation cases. Work is performed under the direction of a nurse manager.

Primary Functions

• Assists in taking accurate and thorough verbal, written, and web-based infectious disease reports and in gathering appropriate data pertaining to disease investigations.
• Helps with the administration of prophylactic medications. Coordinates specimen collection, handling, and shipping for investigations.
• Maintains appropriate records/documents, filing and referrals of cases.
• Assists nursing staff and Health Care Authority as necessary in field investigations consisting of home/hospital visits, routine monitoring, and disease surveillance issues.
• Helps with the planning and coordinating of health care services as needed to ensure and maintain community/public health.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
• Must have at least three (3) years of directly related experience in communicable and chronic diseases.
• Prefer a current vocational nursing license or equivalent type certification and CPR license.
• Knowledge in HIPAA compliance, laws, and regulations is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
