The Division of Hotels and Restaurants in Florida seeks a Sanitation and Safety Specialist to conduct sanitation and safety inspections of hotels and restaurants and to investigate foodborne illness complaints.

You will perform regulatory inspections, prepare inspection reports, participate in licensing of events, testify in hearings, and maintain certifications and state-issued equipment while providing high-quality customer service.

Formación

• Knowledge of sanitation and safety inspection laws.
• Ability to work on a team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment.
• Willing to work weekends and evenings as required.
• Willing to drive state or personal vehicle for duties.
• Must accept employment at the advertised salary.
• Must be willing to work in high crime areas when necessary.
• Must work Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct inspection and inspection related activities.
• Regulatory, standardized inspections of public food service establishments and lodging facilities for compliance with regulations.
• Investigate food borne illness and environmental sanitary nuisance complaints and take administrative action.
• Work with other agencies to secure compliance with state regulations.
• Participate in inspection and licensing of temporary events.
• Prepare accurate facility inspection reports documenting violations and keep timesheets and travel reports.
• Deliver legal documents and testify in hearings as needed.
