Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Public Health Registered Nurse for the Twiggs County Health Department. The role focuses on preventing illness, injury, and disability while promoting healthy lifestyles in communities statewide.

As a Public Health Registered Nurse at the Twiggs County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. Under general supervision, provides direct patient care services as an expanded role nurse. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 1 (HCP190) or position equivalent.

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
