Job summary

The County of Del Norte Health and Human Services Department, Public Health Branch, seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Public Health Program Specialist. This part-time, temporary/extra-help role oversees and evaluates public health education program activities under general supervision.

Essential duties include policy development, partnership building, quality assurance, and staff consultation.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and accept differences in human behavior and promote cultural competency in serving vulnerable populations.
• Compile and analyze data and information.
• Interpret public health laws, rules, and regulations and apply them to the assigned area of specialty.
• Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project potential outcomes, and implement recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, plan, and evaluate public health education program activities under supervision.
• Develop, implement, and monitor program policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with partners to enhance impact of the programs.
• Ensure QA measures for high-quality services to eligible clients and populations.
• Advise program staff to comply with procedures, policies, and regulations.
