Job summary

The State of Arkansas, Department of Human Services, is seeking a Health Program Supervisor/Expert to oversee one or more public health programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements and guiding strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will supervise staff, serve as SME in a public health domain (e.g., chronic disease prevention, maternal and child health), oversee budget and grants, and lead policy and program improvements to maximize impact and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health science, social work, education, public administration, or a related field.
• Three years of experience in public health, program coordination, or health education.
• One year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise program staff, mentor teams, and evaluate personnel.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for a specific public health domain such as chronic disease prevention, infectious disease control, environmental health, maternal and child health, or emergency preparedness.
• Oversee development, execution, and evaluation of complex public health programs, ensuring alignment with agency priorities, grant requirements, and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership in policy development, strategic planning, and procedural implementation for assigned program areas.

Bachelor's degree in public health, health science, social work, education, public administration, or a closely related field
