Job summary

Health in Columbus (OH) is seeking a Public Health Consultant to support statewide preparedness initiatives and provide direct technical assistance to local health departments, hospitals, and internal partners to strengthen readiness for public health emergencies.

The role emphasizes grants administration, program management, and training delivery, with standard hours Monday–Friday and an hourly pay rate under SEIU/1199. A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

6 mos. exp. in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health setting
Completion of graduate core coursework in public health, health administration or related field
Must be able to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide consultation and technical assistance on public health planning, budgeting, evaluation, and implementation.
Monitor and evaluate funded projects to ensure alignment with guidelines and grant requirements.
Develop and deliver training and educational materials on preparedness measures and program outcomes.
Identify risks and determine resource needs for preparedness activities.
Assist in developing program guidelines, manuals, and statewide events.
Support federal grant management activities including applications and contracts.
Track quarterly progress reports and supporting materials for stakeholders.
Build partnerships with state and local partners to advance preparedness goals.
Attend trainings and conferences to stay current in public health preparedness.
