Job summary

Nash County is seeking a Deputy/Director-level administrator to oversee complex internal operations within the Public Health framework. The role requires planning, organizing, staffing and directing agency activities under the Director's guidance.

Responsibilities include supervising directors, financial management, policy development, intergovernmental relations, and program evaluation. Preference for public health management experience and a Master’s degree in related fields.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health administration, public health discipline, or public administration with two years of management experience in a health-related agency.
• Or a four-year degree in public health field with four years of management experience, preference for public health experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, staff and direct agency internal operations.
• Oversee fiscal, human resources, strategic planning and intergovernmental relations functions.
• supervise Division Directors and coordinate policy implementation across programs.
• Ensure security of facilities and safety of staff and clients.
• Manage grants and contract monitoring activities; contribute to tech-driven operational improvements.

Education

Master’s degree in public health administration, public health discipline, or public administration

two years of management experience in a health related agency

experience in substance use disorder programs (preferred)
