Job summary

The State of Florida's Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County is seeking a Nutrition Educator to support the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program in Fort Walton Beach. You will certify clients, develop nutrition plans, document in Florida-Wise records, and coordinate care with clinic staff.

Responsibilities include collecting health data, issuing WIC benefits and Farmer’s Market Coupons, conducting outreach, and ensuring compliance with DHM 150-24 and WIC policies.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and office equipment skills.
• Ability to complete clerical and data-entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
• Efficient communication skills, orally and in writing.
• Strong customer service skills in dealing with public clients and internal staff members.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience providing client services through Special Supplemental Nutrition Program or WIC program.

Responsibilities

• Certifies, develops, monitors and revises nutrition notes and care plans for WIC clients.
• Collects and records anthropometric, hematological, dietary and medical data.
• Assigns and issues WIC food benefits and Farmer’s Market Coupons.
• Provides breastfeeding promotion, support and counseling.
• Participates in WIC outreach events and maintains documentation per policy.
