Job summary

State of Florida is seeking a Nutrition Educator for the Department of Health in North Fort Myers. The role manages day-to-day nutrition services at the WIC site, including risk assessment, education, and referrals. Interpreter duties may be needed for bi-lingual clients.

Responsibilities include data entry in the FL-WiSE system, breastfeeding support, and coordination with the dietitian and program director. Travel to multiple sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in nutritional science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition.
• Ability to perform nutrition education for individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

• Determines nutrition risk eligibility and documents services.
• Provides individual nutrition education contacts using the SOAP format.
• Refers clients to outside agencies and documents referrals.
• Protects, promotes, and supports breastfeeding and related activities.
• Collects and records medical data for WIC clients and inputs into FL-WiSE.
• Completes administrative projects and participates in Quality Assurance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
