Job summary

Allen County Department of Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in the health clinics. You will perform testing, immunizations, vital signs, and EMR data entry to support nursing and medical staff.

With prior medical assisting experience, you will cross-train across clinics, educate clients on disease prevention, and assist with inventory and front-office duties during staffing gaps.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree/certification preferred.
• Medical assisting certification or comparable program valued.

Responsibilities

• Administers public health testing and immunizations per standing orders.
• Provides clinical and administrative support across clinic divisions.
• collects vitals, BMI, and health history; maintains EMR entries.
• Educates clients on disease prevention and vaccination.
• Cross-trains for front-office duties when needed.
• Manages inventory of clinic supplies and medications.
• Assists during emergency events and other duties as assigned.
