Cameron County Public Health (CCPH) seeks a certified Medical Assistant to support Clinical Services, assist in immunizations, and maintain medical records across four clinic sites. The role requires travel between sites and adherence to CCPH policies. Competitive benefits apply.

Under supervision, the MA will document work hours, perform clerical duties, and assist in data entry and reporting for Family Planning, STD, Prenatal, and Immunizations programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Medical Assistants and maintain current certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of public health laws and regulations.
• Good communication skills (oral and written) and Spanish speaking ability.
• Knowledge of computer programs software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet).
• Ability to work with confidential client information.

Responsibilities

• Document all time worked.
• Prepare and administer immunizations and treatments following CCPH protocols.
• Conduct data entry in records and electronic reporting systems.
• Plan and schedule clinics and maintain medical records.
• Assist in laboratory duties and specimen handling as needed.
• Travel to four public health clinic sites as required.
