Job summary

The Oregon Health Authority is seeking a Lab Surveillance Coordinator to support statewide infectious disease surveillance efforts and ensure accurate reporting for ABCs and FoodNet studies. You will coordinate data gathering, liaise with laboratories, and assist in study design with federal and state partners.

Ideal candidates have a public health background, strong data skills, and experience coordinating public health surveillance activities in a collaborative, multi‑agency environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of coordinating or administering a program.
  • Or any combination of education/experience equivalent to five years in the classification.
  • Familiarity with public health surveillance systems, epidemiology principles, collaboration with lab/epidemiology partners, data reporting skills, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Support statewide infectious disease surveillance efforts and maintain data integrity.
  • Lead data-gathering for FoodNet epidemiologic studies and coordinate staffing as projects expand.
  • Coordinate specimen and bacterial isolate transfers to OSPHL, CDC and reference labs; liaise with partners.
