About the Position
This is a time limited position. Disease Intervention Specialist: This is an entry-level to mid-level technical and investigative epidemiological work within a health program responsible for prevention and control of sexually transmitted and other communicable diseases. Work includes the investigation of confidential information pertaining to known and suspected cases of communicable diseases; collection of blood samples “within clinic or field setting” and submission to Public Health Laboratory; counseling patients and providing health education; consulting with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals aiding with cases and maintaining surveillance of diagnosed infections. Participates in off-site screenings as scheduled. Direct supervision is received from a Disease Intervention Specialist Supervisor.
