Job description

Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City, MO, 65109. You will use data to draw connections between health and the environment, build dashboards, and help inform educational outreach efforts. This position is in the Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) program, which is funded by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay. Work independently and collaboratively on projects to identify, evaluate, and prevent public health impacts of exposures to environmental hazards Gather, analyze, and interpret environmental health data to draw connections between environmental exposures and disease Use mapping and statistical software to analyze, visualize, and display data Disseminate/communicate findings of environmental health evaluations/studies Mangage environmental health grants and budgets, ensure grant deliverable progress, report grant progress to federal partners Plan, implement, and evaluate program activities related to prevention and control of harmful environmental exposures Work closely with diverse groups of people including scientists/experts in other programs/agencies Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in public health or biological, physical, or environmental science Two or more years of relevant experience in surveillance, detection, prevention, and/or control of exposures and/or disease Experience with SAS or other statistical software and general programming techniques is desirable but not required Experience with data visualization and Geographic Information Systems (Tableau or ArcGIS) is desirable but not required Highly organized and detail oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Substitution of education or experience may be considered Lack of post‑secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
