New Hanover County's Public Health Department is seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to perform independent fieldwork and inspections of food, lodging, and other facilities. You will enforce public health regulations and educate the community, while coordinating with state and local agencies as needed.

The role requires an EH license in North Carolina, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field and 1 year of environmental health experience.
• Must have NC Registered Environmental Health Specialist license and NC authorizations in area of assignment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to gather data and interpret results; knowledge of EH laws.

Responsabilités

• Conducts inspections of permitted establishments and licensed facilities; issues citations and follows up on violations.
• Provides education and outreach to the public and other agencies; prepares reports and presentations.
