Job summary

Wake County Public Health's Environmental Health & Safety Division seeks an Environmental Consultant to protect community health by inspecting restaurants, lodging, and institutions and by educating stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in EH/Health sciences or public health.
• 3 years of environmental health experience.
• NC REHS or able to obtain within 12 months.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect food, lodging, and institutional facilities per state rules.
• Investigate foodborne disease outbreaks and other outbreaks.
• Inspect swimming pools and tattoo facilities as needed.
• Perform emergency response and complaint investigations.
• Educate the public on environmental and public health issues.
