Job summary

County of Lancaster seeks a Health and Medical Coordinator to provide administrative support to the County Health Advisory Council and to develop and maintain a County Health and Medical Preparedness Plan ensuring readiness for health emergencies. You will interact with county departments, health systems, law enforcement, and community organizations to keep plans current.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to design training materials and exercises

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in safety/health, EMS, public safety, emergency management, or public administration.
• Demonstrated organizational and written/spoken communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the County Health Advisory Council (CHAC) and coordinate meetings.
• Develop and maintain the Health and Medical Preparedness Plan per accreditation standards.
• Maintain the Health and Medical Emergency Operations Plan and annexes.
• Lead county preparedness initiatives for public health and medical events.
• Chair the Safety Committee and liaise with insurance representatives on workplace safety.
• Design exercises using HSEEP to test health and medical plans.
• Maintain awareness of investigations and provide situation reports to leadership.
• Educate the public and stakeholders on health and medical preparedness.
