Job summary

S R International Inc in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Emergency Planning Specialist to support Maricopa County's public health emergency operations by developing and coordinating plans and processes.

You will assist in creating, updating, and tracking emergency response plans, coordinate volunteer resources, and help strengthen communication with stakeholders while applying NIMS/ICS and HSEEP principles in real events and drills.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of clerical and/or administrative experience.
• Familiarity with NIMS/ICS protocols.
• Experience in project and program management or government/public sector settings preferred.
• Proficiency in standard office software and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical, logistical, and operational support for developing and coordinating public health emergency operational plans and processes.
• Assist in the creation, maintenance, updating, and tracking of emergency response plans for the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH).
• Research and identify potential volunteer forces to support emergency response and daily public health activities.
• Collaborate with planners and supervisors to improve communication systems and maintain current stakeholder contact information.
• Collect, analyze, and report data to measure effectiveness of emergency response plans and identify vulnerabilities or gaps.
• Support emergency response training, exercises, and actual event operations using HSEEP, NIMS, and ICS principles.
• Review and document planning and response protocols, working with internal and external partners to address identified gaps.
• Gather and track information during public health emergency events to support planning, operations, and logistics within the EOC or ICC.
• Coordinate delivery of ongoing training and exercises on response plans for staff, partners, and volunteers.
• Perform general administrative and office management tasks, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and standard database applications.
• Operate standard office equipment and maintain filing, word processing, and other clerical duties.
