Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s Public Health Program is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to assist with upper-division courses in core public health subjects. The role involves preparing and grading assignments, leading review sessions, and maintaining the course website.

Ideal candidates are current graduate students in public health with strong quantitative and instructional skills. Part-time or full-time appointments may be available, with compensation prorated for 27.5 hours

Qualifications

• Part‑time positions require enrollment in good standing in an accredited graduate school of public health.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and grading of homework assignments, quizzes, exams, papers, and other assignments.
• Lead activities, demonstrations, discussions, and pre-exam review sessions.
• Hold regularly assigned walk-in office hours, tutoring students on the assigned subject matter.
• Provide course-based administrative assistance to the Instructor of Record, including grade reporting, maintenance of the course web site, and proctoring scheduled and make-up.
