Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a Program Coordinator to support education programs in the Epidemiology department, including master’s programs. You will work with faculty, instructors and students to plan courses, TA support and seminars.

Minimum: Bachelor's degree; a Master’s in Epidemiology or Public Health is preferred. This role requires initiative, organization, and strong written/oral communication to manage curricula, meetings and alumni activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in Epidemiology or Public Health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with faculty instructors to prepare courses and provide teaching assistant support for courses throughout the semester.
  • Support department-based Certificates with seminars, events, budgets, expense management, and curricular review and updates.
  • Support the MPH student Applied Practice Experience (APEx) program placements and related culminating master's student Day events.
  • Manage Epi Department alumni relations, including networking opportunities for current students and recruiting alumni for participation in department events.
  • Support the department's master's and curriculum Committees, including attending meetings, note-taking, reviewing and preparing course syllabi for schoolwide approval, updating department website with education-related material.
  • Perform other related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested, including supporting special education initiatives.
