Job summary

Dept of State Health Services in Austin, TX seeks a Data Entry Operator to perform complex data entry for Texas Health Steps, newborn screening, or microbiology programs. The role requires meticulous attention to demographics, data entry accuracy, and meeting daily quotas.

The position supports laboratory workflows, works with the LIMS system, and collaborates with the Safety Office to promote a healthy and safe workplace. Availability for Saturday and holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• At least six (6) months of work experience in data entry.
• Experience with proofreading and quality checks.
• Experience handling confidential materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter complex patient, specimen and test information into the LIMS system.
• Process 210–450 submission forms daily; verify accuracy.
• Print demographics and verify information, edit and release same day.
• Maintain SOP adherence and meet deadlines; minimize errors.
• Assist with training and other duties as assigned.
• Support safety culture and coordinate with Safety Office.
