Harris County Public Health (HCPH) seeks a Communications Specialist to lead CHVPS communications, campaign execution, and strategy development. You will coordinate media, content creation, and collaboration with the Office of Communications to ensure timely, accurate, and branded messaging.

Qualified candidates have a public health or communications background, strong writing/editing skills, and experience driving multimedia initiatives across diverse stakeholders, including during emergencies.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, public information, public health, or social marketing.
• Two (2) years professional work experience in public relations, communications, public information, public affairs, public health, social marketing, multimedia content creation, and/or project management.

Aufgaben

• Work with stakeholders on multimedia campaigns to ensure content is current, accurate, and brand-consistent.
• Develop ongoing multimedia communication strategies and protocols for CHVPS programs.
• Analyze CHVPS program needs and provide innovative consultative guidance.
• Assist CHVPS staff in developing Communications goals and coordinating with junior staff.
• Develop workflows to improve multimedia processes in CHVPS.
• Maintain centralized repository of communications materials.
• Update daily and weekly reports promptly.
• Edit copy, fact-check, and proofread print and digital materials.
• Support leadership with deadlines and press materials.
• Assist in emergency event communications.
