Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Medical Cannabis Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Medical Cannabis Registry, guiding program development and ensuring efficient service delivery to physicians and patients.

The role reports to executive leadership, collaborates with epidemiology, and oversees staff handling patient registry, licensing, and program communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in operations management or business administration.
• At least six years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and communicates a strategic vision for the Medical Cannabis Program.
• Ensure quality and timely customer service to physicians and patients.
• Develops short- and long-term program goals, priorities, implementation plans, and performance expectations.
• Oversees hiring and termination decisions in consultation with Human Resources.
• Supervises staff managing the patient registry and related communications.
