Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government is seeking a Backflow Prevention Inspector in the Water Operations division. The role involves inspecting backflow devices on residential, commercial, and industrial systems to prevent contamination of potable water.

Responsibilities include field surveys, data entry into backflow software, coordination with owners and contractors, and ensuring adherence to applicable plumbing codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or vocational school and 4+ years as a journeyman plumber.
• Master plumber license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Experience with backflow prevention and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct meetings and site surveys with contractors and owners to resolve cross-connection issues.
• Inspect and document backflow devices and maintain electronic inspection data.
• Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal backflow regulations.
