Job summary

The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) seeks an experienced Fiscal Manager to safeguard public funds and oversee all fiscal operations in downtown Fort Myers. You will lead budgeting, grants, procurement, and financial reporting while shaping a high-performing finance team.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will drive internal controls, collaboration with stakeholders, and modernization of workflows to support Lee County’s premier tourism destination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field
• Two (2) years of finance-related experience in accounting, budgeting, auditing, or other related financial work
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CGFO, or CGFM are highly desirable
• Experience in governmental accounting, budgeting, procurement, contracts, and grants management

Responsibilities

• Manage all fiscal operations for the Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB)
• Lead the accounting and reporting functions for Tourist Development Tax (TDT) revenues
• Develop, monitor, and manage annual operating and capital budgets
• Administer Sports Development funding, including accounting, compliance, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with public-sector financial regulations, laws, and County policies
• Strengthen internal financial controls, processes, and workflows
• Prepare, review, and present financial reports for leadership and stakeholders
• Supervise grant compliance, including tracking, documentation, reconciliation, and reporting
• Manage procurement activities in accordance with County purchasing policies
• Oversee contract development, review, administration, and compliance
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and related financial transactions
• Lead, mentor, and develop the fiscal team to maintain a positive, high-performing culture
• Provide strategic financial guidance to support leadership decision-making and operational excellence
• Foster trusted working relationships through clear, effective communication
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support operational and customer-service needs
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement
• Leverage technology to enhance efficiency and modernize financial workflows
