Job summary

The Village of Estero, FL is seeking a Finance Director to lead municipal finances, guide long-term financial planning, and support a lean, high-performing government model with strong internal controls and transparent reporting.

Reporting to the Village Manager, the Finance Director will oversee budgeting, debt management, grants, procurement, and capital financing while communicating complex financial information to the elected board and public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Eight+ years of progressively responsible management experience in financial administration with governmental organizations in the United States.
• Knowledge of laws, policies, and accounting principles governing municipal finance operations.
• CPA, CPFO, and/or CGFO certification preferred.

• Oversee budgeting, debt management, and financial reporting for the Village.
• Lead treasury activities, procurement, and capital financing with strong internal controls.
• Communicate complex financial information to elected officials, staff, and the public.
